How Organizations are Assessed
The EDGE Pay Equity and Transparency Certification assesses two components:

Organizational Statistics

Pay Equity and Transparency Requirements Are Expanding
Equal pay for equivalent work is a widely recognized human right and legal principle. ILO Convention No. 100 on Equal Remuneration has been ratified by 174 countries, establishing equal pay for work of equal value as a near-universal legal obligation.
What is rapidly evolving is the expectation that organizations demonstrate pay equity through measurable evidence, transparency, reporting, and greater accountability. Across geographies and industries, organizations are increasingly required to assess, disclose, and proactively manage pay equity risks.
The EDGE Pay Equity and Transparency Certification helps organizations respond with a structured and independently verified framework grounded in objective measurable evidence and clear standards of performance.
Examples include:
The EU Pay Transparency Directive introduces gender pay gap reporting obligations, joint pay assessments, and pay transparency requirements for organizations with 100+ employees.

Federal legislation requires organizations with 100+ employees to conduct equal pay analyses using a government-approved methodology.

The Gender Pay Equity Law requires organizations with 100+ employees to publish gender pay data and implement action plans where disparities are identified.

The Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workforce requires organizations with 100+ employees to disclose gender pay gap data and publish action plans.

Gender Pay Gap Reporting Regulations require employers with 250+ employees to annually publish gender pay gap data. The UK Government is also proposing to introduce mandatory ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting for large employers, building on the existing gender pay gap reporting framework.

A growing number of states have introduced pay transparency legislation covering salary disclosure, pay data reporting, and equal pay obligations.
