EDGE Standards and Certification

EDGE Certification is the leading global standard for diversity, fairness, and inclusion, centred on a workplace gender and intersectional equity approach.  The Standards – EDGE (gender-binary) and EDGEplus (gender and intersectionality) – offer a holistic framework against which organizations can measure where they stand in terms of gender and intersectional equity. The framework consists of requirements and specifications against which conformance is audited by an independent third-party leading to EDGE Certification.

EDGE Certification Requirements

The current standards are the EDGE Certification Requirements Version 5.3, effective from 1 April 2024. Access the EDGE Certification Requirements v5.3.

Our upcoming EDGE Standards Version 6 continues to support organizations in advancing gender and intersectional equity in the workplace in a way that is legally robust, ethically responsible, and grounded in merit. Explore the key changes introduced in Version 6 here. From 1 January 2026, organizations will be able to certify against the EDGE Standards Version 6.
